Alison & Brandon

It all started back in 2015, when we both worked at Starbucks. Before we even met, we were already teasing each other without knowing it. His last name (Allison) had two Ls, and my first name (Alison) had one. On the printed schedule in the break room, he’d add an extra L to my name, and I’d cross one off his. This little back-and-forth went on for weeks before we finally met in person. I remember saying, “Oh, you’re the guy who keeps messing with my name!” And just like that, we hit it off, instant friends (who both secretly thought the other was pretty cute).

Soon I found out he had eight dogs, and jokingly asked if I could borrow one for a hike (without inviting him of course). He laughed and asked, “Am I allowed to come too?” From that moment on, we were hiking buddies, grabbing beers afterward, and building a friendship that would quietly grow into something more. A few years (and many hikes) later, during a birthday celebration outing, we finally admitted what everyone else probably already knew: we liked each other more than friends.

Since then, we’ve been inseparable. We’ve lived in a tiny house in Asheville, moved to Charlotte, survived school, struggled through work layoffs, rescued a few cats, and traveled the world together. Through every season, we’ve been each other’s best friend, partner, and biggest cheerleader. Now, after 8 years, we’re finally making it official, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next adventure with the people we love most!
